One of the Great Joys of Learning in School, and in particular, in Classroom 16!, is being there in a happy place where everyone has agreed to STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE, where everyone feels that he or she is an important part of the whole classroom of students, and where there are often times to work directly on learning with a friend in a task given by the Teacher.

One of the great joys of Classroom 16 were Reading Lessons where Mr. Stathis's own stories were used for the lessons where all students learned all kinds of Reading abilities, advancing from whatever level they were at in the joy of the story with the class. Here Alison practices her fluence and expression with her partners in one of the fun tales.
No, it's not a Birthday party....Students are working together in a Group of 5 and the hats represent what their job is in the Group: One hat is for the Group Leader, and the other for the Group Reader. They are putting their heads together to write a summary of one of the fun Reading Lesson Stories.

Working with a partner on fun Math challenges. First one partner challenges the other to move around the 100's Chart adding and subtracting quickly. The answer is checked. Then they switch who challenges who. Then, musical chairs, and everyone finds a different partner!

Libraries, all Libraries, are places of Peace, of exploring, enetering-into the lives of charatcers in a story, places of knowledge of our Country and other Countires, of famous people, of Science, of wildlife, the Geography of the Earth, of EVERYTHING, and especially are wonderful to share the experience of being there with a friend.
Small Group Partner Reading. There were a few different very important ways we, as Mr. Stathis's students, experienced the "Joy of Reading," particulary with a small group reading aloud to the class.
